Eduroam is the Wi-Fi network used across Oxford. It is also used in many other institutions worldwide and allows you to visit other organisations and use the same username and password as you would in Oxford to access the internet.
You will need a remote access account to sign-in. This is different from your Single Sign-On (SSO) account and can be obtained through IT Services self-registration.
Annoyingly, you need access to the internet in order to register to get online… There are kiosk computers available in the Pidge room and computer rooms in both OWL and Mob libraries. These have limited access to the internet but will allow you to register for a remote access account.
Once you have a remote access account, try connecting to the Eduroam as you would for any other Wi-Fi network. You will be prompted to enter a username and password, this is your remote access account username followed by ‘@ox.ac.uk’ (e.g. email@example.com) and your remote access account password.
Once you’ve been able to get online on your device, it is highly recommended that you install the Eduraom Configuration Assistance Tool which correctly configures your device to ensure a more stable connection. This can be downloaded here.
