The Bodley Club
The Bodley Club is the speaker society of the College. Founded in 1894 as a forum in which undergraduates delivered academic papers on literature, the Club has changed form over the years, and was reformed in the 1980s as a society inviting “fabulously interesting” speakers to deliver talks to the College.
The only members of the Club are the Committee, but all members of the College (including JCR, MCR, SCR, and staff) are invited to speaker events, which are kindly subsidised in part by the JCR. There is also an annual dinner in Hilary, to which members of all common rooms are invited.
For more information, find us on Facebook, or contact one of the Committee. We are always open to suggestions for speakers to host.
